PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing in which a reel body can be minimized and lightened while keeping a spool stroke. SOLUTION: The spinning reel for fishing is equipped with an oscillating mechanism 38 for converting rotation operation movement of a handle shaft 18 attached to a reel body 12a to longitudinal reciprocation of a spool 14 and the oscillating mechanism 38 has a sliding body 46 connected so as to move integrally with a spool shaft 36 in the longitudinal direction in the rear of the spool shaft 36 having a spool 14 at the top and winds a fishline on the spool 14 moving in the longitudinal direction together with the sliding body 46 by carrying out driving rotation of a rotor 34. In the spinning reel for fishing, a projection 68 on the pinion side of the sliding body 46 attached to the rear of the spool shaft 36 is formed in smaller diameter than that of a circular groove 5 of the rear supporting part 54 opposite to the sliding body 46.
