<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retardation film excellent in a viewing angle characteristic when it is incorporated to a liquid crystal display device. <P>SOLUTION: The retardation film has: a cellulose acylate film satisfying the following expressions (III) and (IV); and an optical anisotropic layer including a twisted-nematic aligned liquid crystal compound. The expressions are: (III), 0≤Re(590)≤10 and ¾Rth(590)¾≤25; and (IV), ¾Re(400)-Re(700)¾≤10 and ¾Rth(400)-Rth(700)¾≤35, wherein Re(λ) denotes a frontal retardation value (unit:nm) at wavelength λnm, and Rth(λ) denotes a retardation value (unit:nm) in the film thickness direction at wavelength λnm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
