<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly accurate image detection apparatus capable of detecting a specific image by small throughput without causing misdetection even when the direction of image data is rotated. <P>SOLUTION: The image detection apparatus is provided with: a first data extraction part 202 for forming a plurality of substantially circumferential areas around a scanning position on image data and extracting first image data in each of these areas; a first featured value calculation part 203 for calculating a first image data featured value from the first image data; a first similarity calculation part 205 for calculating first similarity from the first image data featured value and a first reference featured value; a second data extraction part 206 for radially forming a plurality of substantially linear areas started from the scanning position and extracting second image data in each of the areas; a second featured value calculation part 207 for calculating a second image data featured value from the second image data; and a second similarity calculation part 209 for calculating second similarity from the second image data featured value and a second reference featured value, so as to detect the existence/absence of a specific image based on the first similarity and the second similarity. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
