PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device which maintains a stable depressure effect for a long time and prevents the occurrence of toner scattering onto a device main part and toner drop to a paper sheet. SOLUTION: The developing device adapted to communicate an upper chamber housing a brand new developer 49Y prior to use with a lower chamber when a sealing member 48Y mounted on a developer drop port 33Y provided between both chambers is stripped, and to allow the brand new developer to fall through the falling port from the upper chamber to the lower chamber is characterized in that the upper chamber is provided with the depressure strucuture depressurably by using the space generated after the brand new developer falls to the lower chamber by peeling the sealing member.
