PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display in which a problem that a contour of an image gets blurred double even when an operating system is driven hardly occurs and which is equipped with pixel division structure. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is equipped with a plurality of pixels each of which has a liquid crystal layer and a plurality of electrodes for applying voltage to the liquid crystal layer. Each pixel has a 1st subpixel and a 2nd subpixel which are capable of applying different voltage to respective liquid crystal layers and in which at a certain gradation, voltage of higher effective value than that of the liquid crystal layer of the 2nd subpixel is applied to the liquid crystal layer of the 1st subpixel. Starting response speed of luminance of the 1st subpixel when prescribed voltage is applied to the 1st subpixel is slow than starting response speed of luminance of the 2nd subpixel when prescribed voltage is applied to the 2nd subpixel.
