PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method by which a toner containing a more finely and uniformly dispersed colorant and giving better image properties such as image density is manufactured in an efficient and stable manner in toner manufacture by a polymerization method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toner includes a colorant dispersing step, wherein in the colorant dispersing step, a dispersing machine is used in which a plurality of protrusions are circularly arranged so that a slit is made between the protrusions and rings formed by the protrusions are coaxially set so that rotors 25 and stators 21 similar in shape to the rotors formed in multiple stages on concentric circles keep regular intervals and engage with each other, and a monomer composition containing at least a colorant and a polymerizable monomer is centrifugally passed through the gap between the rotors rotating at a peripheral speed of 30-60 m/s and the stators to disperse the colorant.
