The arrangement has an infrared light emitting diode (I) and a photo transistor provided above or beneath each key (t) of a piano keyboard. An electronic circuit measures the cyclic position of the keys with the time, and a neural network evaluates the measured data for producing a digital control data for electronic tone producer or digital recording. The neural network determines time and strength of the impact.
