The structure has a suspension strut support (4) with a profile section (6) running perpendicular to a lower longitudinal chassis beam (3), and another hollow profile section (7) lying horizontally following the profile (6). The section (7) is ablong and bent, and is fixed to an upper longitudinal chassis beam (2). A gap is recessed between both side pieces (8, 9) of the bent profile section (7), and forms a passage opening of the support. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a support structure for a suspension strut of a motor vehicle.
