<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an option paper feed device each having a separation claw resistant to damage. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes the separation claw 3 for feeding a recording sheet S to the main body 1c of the image forming apparatus, from the uppermost one of the stack of recording sheets one by one. The apparatus also includes handles 2R and 2L for lifting the apparatus, one formed on the side of the separation claw 3 and the other on the side opposite to it.
