<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system preventing mixing of hydrogen with oxygen in a fuel gas passage in atemporary stoppage, generating no potential shift even when stopping frequencies increases, capable of charging a secondary battery, supplying sufficient electric power to accessories in restarting, and preventing corrosion of a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is equipped with a fuel cell stack, a purging means purging with substitution gas of fuel gas in a fuel gas passage, a timer measuring elapsed time from the stop of the fuel gas supply to the fuel gas passage, a power storage means breakably connected to a fuel cell, and a control means stopping the fuel gas supply to the fuel gas passage by receiving an operetion-stopping command, supplying output current from the fuel cell to the power storage means, purging when elapsed time reaches the prescribed time, and selectively executing a waiting mode breaking the connection between the fuel cell and the power storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
