<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a code symbol retrieving method with more saved resources at a higher speed by optimizing the retrieval order of preliminarily limited regions on the assumption that a code symbol is placed in each of those regions. <P>SOLUTION: This symbol retrieving method comprises a step for retrieving a code symbol on a recording sheet for each region, a step for specifying the position on the recording sheet of the code symbol, and for recording the position information, a step for reading the code symbol, a step for deciding the order of retrieval of the regions by using the recorded position information and a step for retrieving the code symbol according to the retrieval sequence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
