<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building material containing a phosphorescent substance, which contains the phosphorescent substance, exhibits its existence by phosphorescence in darkness without conspicuously showing the color of the phosphorescent substance in a bright environment and can be used in the same way as an ordinary building material. <P>SOLUTION: In this building material containing the phosphorescent substance, a recessed groove 16 is longitudinally formed in the surface layer 14 of the building material with the synthetic-resin surface layer 14 to which a color or a pattern is appropriately applied by using a toning pigment, and a phosphorescent substance part 17 containing the phosphorescent substance is integrally arranged in the recessed groove by extrusion. The phosphorescent substance part comprises a phosphorescent pigment and the toning pigment of the same kind as the toning pigment for the surface layer. In this case, the toning pigment is of a content of 0.5% or less to the whole phosphorescent substance part; a black pigment mixed into the toning pigment is of a content of 0.1% or less to the whole phosphorescent substance part; a white pigment is of a content of 0.3% or less to the whole phosphorescent substance part; and the phosphorescent substance part has a thickness of 0.5 mm or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
