PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transparent gel composed of an easily synthesizable and purifiable silicone-containing resin, having excellent gel strength, transparency, oxygen permeability, refractive index, etc., and usable as a culture material for cells and organs, a container for preservation and an ophthalmic material, etc. SOLUTION: The transparent gel is composed of a copolymer containing a polysiloxane skeleton and a polycarbonate skeleton and a hydrophilic polymer produced by polymerizing a hydrophilic monomer and has an interpenetrating network structure of the copolymer and the hydrophilic polymer.
