SCINTILLATOR AND RADIATION DETECTOR USING THE SAME

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scintillator which has high fluorescent output and short decay time and in which equalization of scintillation characteristics in crystals has been attempted, and to provide a radiation detector using the same.

SOLUTION: There is used a scintillator composed of a single crystal of a cerium-activated lanthanoid silicate represented by the general formula: Ce2xLn2yLu2(1-x-y)SiO5(wherein Ln denotes at least one element of lanthanoid elements except Lu, 2×10-4≤x≤3×10-2, and 1×10-4≤y≤1×10-3).
