摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scintillator which has high fluorescent output and short decay time and in which equalization of scintillation characteristics in crystals has been attempted, and to provide a radiation detector using the same. <P>SOLUTION: There is used a scintillator composed of a single crystal of a cerium-activated lanthanoid silicate represented by the general formula: Ce<SB>2x</SB>Ln<SB>2y</SB>Lu<SB>2(1-x-y)</SB>SiO<SB>5</SB>(wherein Ln denotes at least one element of lanthanoid elements except Lu, 2×10<SP>-4</SP>≤x≤3×10<SP>-2</SP>, and 1×10<SP>-4</SP>≤y≤1×10<SP>-3</SP>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
