<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a thermosetting resin composite material having excellent mechanical strength and high-temperature abrasion resistance by delaminating graphite to thin layers and uniformly dispersing the graphite in a thermosetting resin. <P>SOLUTION: The thermosetting resin composite material is produced by applying a chemical treatment to graphite to form a graphite intercalated compound containing a low-molecular substance inserted between graphite layers, immersing the compound in an organizing agent solution to obtain an organized graphite containing an organic compound molecule inserted between the graphite layers, and mixing the organized graphite with a thermosetting resin. The invention further provides a method for the production of the composite material. The organized graphite is preferably mixed with a thermosetting resin to form a thin layer having a thickness of 0.1-100 nm, a layer length of 100 nm to 100μm and an aspect ratio of 100-1,000,000. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
