PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device in which electrostatic charge of a spacer can be prevented, and exhaust efficiency is enhanced by arranging a conductive membrane on the rear substrate side that is the low voltage side, moreover in which high vacuum can be secured with the exhausted gas hardly re-adsorbed into a panel, and which is high in brightness and reliability with a long service life, and provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: By arranging the conductive membrane 14 on the bottom face 121 of the spacer 12 fixed to the electrode rear substrate on the low voltage side via an adhesive member, this conductive membrane is covered by the adhesive member.
