PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of bad operability that, when the control of a videodisk reproducing device such as a DVD is performed using a VCR control command, the command corresponding to operation for a chapter is not available, the command for reading chapter information from the videodisk reproducing device is not available, or the command for searching a track number cannot be used to the videodisk reproducing device. SOLUTION: The problem is solved by providing a communication control device for facilitating the control of the videodisk reproducing device and editing operation by using an existing system such as image editing software originally provided for the VCR as its target by using an IEEE1394 interface, an AV/C command protocol, and a method for it.
