PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a height position adjusting device of an optical pickup in an optical disk device by which an adjustment can be performed at low cost and with small man-hours. SOLUTION: This device is the height position adjusting device of the optical pickup of the optical disk device in which a turntable 1 for rotating an optical disk 9 and a guide main shaft 3 and a guide sub-shaft 4 for guiding an optical pickup 2 which irradiates the optical disk 9 with a laser beam in the radial direction of the optical disk 9 are arranged on a chassis 20. In the device, the horizontality of a reference mirror 34 laid on the turntable 1 is confirmed by an autocollimator 31 which is arranged upward of stages 38, 39 on which the chassis 20 is arranged, and when the mirror 34 is not horizontal, the horizontatity of the mirror 34 is adjusted by the stages 38, 39, and a height measuring mirror 35 is put on the mirror 34 and a reference height point 8a on the guide main shaft 3, and the inclination of the height measuring mirror 35 is measured by the autocollimator 31, and the reference height point 8a is adjusted to a prescribed height by converting the inclination into a relative height.
