PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of recognizing the data amount of motion picture data during photographing. SOLUTION: The apparatus comprises an image pick-up means; a recording means for recording motion picture data obtained by the image pick-up means on a record medium; a display means; and a display control means for displaying numerical information indicative of the data amount of the motion picture data recorded on the record medium from the instruction of a recording start to the present on the display means, during the photographing of the motion picture data.
