PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration-damping material clarifying the criteria for selecting, as a restricted- or nonrestricted-type vibration-damping material, such a resin material as to enable exerting high vibration-damping capacity over a wide temperature range, and in its turn, capable of stably exerting high vibration-damping performance under various service circumstances. SOLUTION: A composite resin high in vibration-damping performance is provided, being such that ellipsoidal particles are dispersed in an island-form manner in a matrix of polymeric material, wherein the ellipsoidal particles are made of a material different from the matrix and 0.01-0.1 and 1.0 or less in the ratio of the revolutional axis length to the revolutional radius length(aspect ratio:ω) in the case of restricted type and nonrestricted type, respectively, when the shape of the particle is assumed as spheroid.
