PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door lock which prevents rebound of the sliding door and breakage of a hook piece. SOLUTION: The sliding door lock comprises a trigger hitting a receiving metal piece on a side of a door frame and retreating into a lock box when the sliding door is closed, a hook piece journaled to a stationary axis and rotated in a direction of engagement with the receiving metal piece by interlocking with the retreating movement of the trigger, and a latch mechanism for automatically locking the trigger when the hook piece is engaged with the receiving metal piece. The latch mechanism Z is a unit member provided in a space in the lock box 10. The unit member having a horizontally movable axis 52 comprises a vertically movable frame-like supporting member 51, a latch plate 53 journaled to the horizontally movable axis and provided with an engaging claw part 53a engageable with a first engaging part 35 formed on a side of the trigger, and a temporarily stopping spring 54 incorporated in the supporting member to urge the latch plate to an engageable position.
