PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polyether which is suitably used as a material in electric, electronic and machinery areas and is excellent in heat resistance, mechanical strength and transparency. SOLUTION: The aromatic polyether has a repeating unit of formula (I) (wherein R<SB>1</SB>-R<SB>4</SB>are identical to or different from each other and are each a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group; and a, b, c and d are each an integer of≤4) and has a weight average molecular weight of 10,000-1,000,000.
