PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of inspection by which airtightness of an ultrasonic endoscope, including waterproof housing where an ultrasonic signal connector part is waterproofed is inspected in advance, and to provide the waterproof housing and an inspection apparatus. SOLUTION: The airtightness inspection apparatus of the ultrasonic endoscope comprises: a waterproof housing airtightly covering the ultrasonic signal connector part; an air supply and discharge port formed at the warerproof housing and communicating with the inside of the waterproof housing: an air supply and discharge port formed at a lightguide connector and communicating with the inside of the ultrasonic endoscope of an airtight structure; a Y-shaped pipe having a supply and discharge connector connected with the air supply and discharge port of the waterproof housing, a supply and discharge connector connected with the air supply and discharge port of the lightguide connector and a supply and discharge connector connected with an air supply and discharge source; the air supply and discharge source connected with the supply and discharge connector of the Y-shaped pipe; and an observation means for observing pressure variation of positive pressure or negative pressure connected with the inside of the waterproof housing and the inside of the ultrasonic endoscope through the air supply and discharge source.
