An apparatus for the automatic and intermittent taking of samples of liquid comprises a measuring chamber 1 having an inlet pipe 23 leading via a pipe 5, from a riser pipe 4 connected to a main pipe 8 containing the liquid to be sampled and electromagnetically-actuated valves 2, 3 in an outlet from the measuring chamber and in the inlet pipe respectively, the valves being controlled by a programme device and voltage source as described and claimed in the parent Specification. The apparatus operates in the same manner as described in the latter Specification except that the inlet valve 3 is mounted in the pipe 5 connected to the bottom bend of the siphon instead of being located in the pipe 4 connected directly to the pipe 23 as shown in the parent Specification. |
