<p>The method involves detecting the position of the vehicle on the route. A period of time is determined required by the vehicle to reach the position from a start point for the route. The upper speed is derived dependent on the start point, a given destination point, the vehicle position and the determined time period. The upper speed is determined as an average speed at which the vehicle can reach the destination from the current position without exceeding, on average, the speed limit for the entire route. Independent claims also cover an apparatus for carrying out the method.</p> |
