<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic monitoring system for collecting traffic information of nodes in a network management network that efficiently uses a plurality of monitors and for being able to warrant continuity of the traffic information under collection even on the occurrence of a fault in any of the monitors. <P>SOLUTION: Upon receipt of a collection request of traffic information of a node such as a node 6<SB>1</SB>from a user, a manager 36 assigns a monitor with a lightest load such as a monitor 37<SB>1</SB>to a main collection monitor, a monitor whose load is second highest such as a monitor 37<SB>2</SB>to an auxiliary collection monitor, and allows both the monitors to execute the traffic collection of the node 6<SB>1</SB>, the main monitor 37<SB>1</SB>stores the traffic information collected as the main monitor to a main storage device 25<SB>1</SB>and thereafter stores the information to an auxiliary storage device 4<SB>1</SB>, and the auxiliary monitor 37<SB>2</SB>stores the traffic information as the auxiliary monitor only in a main storage device 25<SB>2</SB>and does not store the information in an auxiliary storage device 4<SB>2</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
