PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel of which the adhesion property in the seal area, with no electrode pattern for driving a liquid crystal formed thereon, is improved, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display panel 1 which is equipped with first and second substrates 2, 6 with electrode patterns 3<SB>1</SB>-3<SB>n</SB>, 7<SB>1</SB>-7<SB>n</SB>for driving the liquid crystal formed thereon, and the seal areas 4, 8 formed on the outside periphery thereof, wherein the substrates are placed opposite to each other via spacers in between and are bonded to each other with the sealing material applied to the seal regions thereof, and the liquid crystal is sealed in the inside thereof, dummy electrode patterns 5, 9 different from the electrode patterns for driving are formed on the seal areas except the seal areas overlapping with the electrode patterns for driving the liquid crystal out of the seal areas of both of the first and second substrates, and the first and second substrates are bonded to each other with the sealing material via the dummy electrode patterns.
