PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing with a magnetic encoder to be particularly used as a wheel bearing, having the magnetic encoder superior in magnetic property and in wear resistance and strength. SOLUTION: Rolling elements are laid between an outward member 1 and an inward member 2, and the magnetic encoder 10 is mounted on the rotation side member out of the outward member 1 and the inward member 2. The magnetic encoder 10 has a multipole magnet 14 whose magnetic poles are alternately formed in the circumferential direction and whose magnetized surface 14a is set in the axial direction. The multipole magnet 14 is a sintered body formed by sintering mixed powder of magnetic powder and non-magnetic metal powder. The magnetized surface 14a of the multipole magnet 4 has a perpendicularity of 200μm or less to a rotational center axis O of the bearing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
