PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apartment house wherein an aged person moving in a wheelchair etc. and requiring nursing care can easily live. SOLUTION: A dwelling unit 1 of a three rooms plus a living-dining-kitchen type is equipped with three habitable rooms 3, 4 and 9, one living-dining room 10, and a kitchen 8; a balcony 11 is provided on the other side of an external corridor 2; and an alcove 13 is provided between the external corridor 2 and a main entrance 12 so as to secure residents' privacy. The habitable room 3 arranged on the side of the external corridor 2, and the habitable room 4 adjacent to the balcony 11 communicate with each other via a straight passage 5 which is provided between the habitable rooms 2 and 3, and the aged person can smoothly move between the habitable rooms 3 and 4 by utilizing the wheelchair, a walker, etc. Additionally, a bathroom 7, a toilet 6 and the kitchen 8 are arranged in such a manner as to face the straight passage 5.
