PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing having a long service life even when used at the position where lubrication conditions are severe in a compressor. SOLUTION: A DLC layer via a substrate layer and an intermediate layer or a metal carbide layer composed of vanadium carbide (VC), titanium carbide (TiC), zirconium carbide (ZrC), niobium carbide (NbC) or tantalum carbide (TaC) by pack cementation is formed on the bearing rings 101a, 102a of a first race 101 and a second race 102, and the circumferential face (rolling face) of a cylindrical roller 103.
