PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition improved in processability and hardness at a low temperature, and a pneumatic tire improved in abrasion resistance without lowering abrasion performance on an iced and snow-laden road surface. SOLUTION: This rubber composition contains 40-60 parts by weight silica and carbon black and 15-25 parts by weight liquid polyisoprene epoxide rubber to 100 parts by weight diene rubber containing not less than 50% polybutadiene rubber.
