PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily repair a welded portion damaged by creep so as to surely elongate its life. SOLUTION: A prescribed zone including a welded metal 2 and a heat affected zone (HAZ) 4 at a boundary portion of a base material 1 is removed by performing a grooving operation. A repair welding operation is performed on the removed prescribed zone, and the removed zone is filled with new welding metal 6. In this case, the prescribed zone is removed by performing the grooving operation so as to satisfy the following relationships, 0.01≤a/T≤0.3, where T is the thickness of the base material 1, and "a" is the thickness of the base material 1 after removing the prescribed zone. The thickness "a" after removing the prescribed zone is determined to be smaller than the heat affected zone caused by the repair welding. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
