PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arm type pitching machine which can minimize the vibration generation source itself without installing a vibration damping mechanism for the vibration generation source. SOLUTION: The arm type pitching machine has a machine frame fixed on a truck, a rotary shaft rotatably supported on the machine frame, a drive means for driving the rotary shaft, a pitching arm fixed on the rotary shaft, a tension-loaded member pivoted at the eccentric position of the rotary shaft and a mechanism and a spring for applying the tension to the tension-loaded member. The tension-loaded member is made up of two bearing type connecting rods which pull the rotary shaft in the direction opposite to each other. The tip of each of the connecting rods is pivoted at one end of a seesaw member with its central part rotatably pivoted on the machine frame and a spring mounting piece is further pivoted at the other end of the seesaw member.
