PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waist belt type safety belt surely preventing edge-hanging and U-shaped hanging, having a sufficient strength, facilitating the operation and provided at a low cost. SOLUTION: This safety belt comprises a belt worn by being wound around the trunk of a wearer, an annular member attached to the belt, a rope connected to the annular member and a hook attached at the tip of the rope and hooking to a main rope or other attachment equipment. The U-shaped locking part of the hook is so formed that a part from the tip to an arc-shaped top part is formed into the same width and the width is formed larger than the diameter of the hole of the annular member.
