<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a printing setup easily and appropriately by presenting a user advice information required for a printing setup, on the basis of an expected printed result picture, before the printing setup. <P>SOLUTION: Before a user carries out a printing setup by using an operation panel 18, a printed result picture is expected by a result anticipation section 24, on the basis of the image data and setup information acquired from a printing 14, so that an image analysis 15 may analyze the result anticipation information so as to extract the specific values showing the attribute of a printed result picture. In an advice presentation 16, advice information corresponding to the extracted specific values is selected on the basis of a conversion table stored in an advice information DB 161. The advice information is displayed on an indicator 181 of the operation panel 18. In the case that the degree of recommendation is provided according to the contents of advice, corresponding specific values are compounded so as to make the priority according to the contents of advice which are displayed in order of the priority.
