<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clamping system which is made attachable/detachable to a stage, easily positioned to a workpiece and even a workpiece with thickness where curvature is generated is surely fixed to the stage, method and an image forming apparatus having the clamping system. <P>SOLUTION: The clamping system 30 has: a base 32 on which a planar workpiece 100 is loaded and is attachably/detachably loaded on the stage 20; a clamping part 34 which is slidably provided to the base 32 and clamps an edge part 100A of the work 100; and a positioning means 70 which is provided to the clamp part 34 and for positioning the clamp part 34 to the work 100.
