PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch exchange system provided with a terminal device which displays the presence of lines held by a self-device by a lamp according to priorities and can perform hold and response by sequentially displaying lines held by the self-device and other devices on a screen and setting priorities in the held lines. SOLUTION: Multifunctional telephones TEL1 to TEln sequentially store lines, such as a station line, a broker line, a PBX (private branch exchange) line and hot line held by a self-telephone (for example, multifunctional telephone TEL1) and other telephones (for example, multifunctional telephones TEL2 to TELn) and are provided with a common hold receiving means having a common hold and reception button and display lamps for performing hold and response possible notice on the basis of line priorities preset by a managing device 6.
