PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a protection method for a security system further suitable for securing reliability and safety when utilizing an in-house LAN 12 connected to the Internet 10. SOLUTION: The protection method for the security system has the in-house LAN 12 connected to the Internet 10, security controllers 14a-14d connected via the in-house LAN 12, and a security management server 16. The security controller 14a executes the preset operation by collating authentication inputted to an authentication input means 18. When managing the security controller 14a, the security management server 16 monitors a communication load between the Internet 10 and the in-house LAN 12 and separates the security controller 14a from the Internet 10 when the communication load exceeds a set value.
