PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device formed with a light reflection film arranged by coating a phosphor layer for preventing the bulge and peeling of the light reflection film, securing electrical conductivity, electron beam transmission, and light reflectivity, providing the display of a high grade with high reliability. SOLUTION: A film thickness T, film density, a pin hole 171, the surface roughness Rz or the like of a metal back 17 are specified, respectively. Although when the film thickness of the metal back is thin, electron beam transmission is high and the thin thickness is advantageous to brightness, it is advantageous that the metal back film has a certain thickness in terms of light reflection.
