An imaging device (100) has a lens, an imaging element, an outer tube section (5) for holding the lens, a cam member (6) for supporting the outer tube section (5) and displacing the outer tube section (5) and the lens, a drive motor, and a CPU for performing autofocusing. The cam member (6) has formed on it a cam surface (611) with which a contact section (53a) formed on the outer tube section (5) comes in contact. The cam surface (611) has an AF range (61e) for autofucusing, an over-infinity range (61b) and an extremely close range (61d) that are continuous in font and back of the autofocus range (61e), and a large step range (61f). The cam surface (611) also has a photo interrupter (9) for detecting the contact section (53a) reaching the large step range (61f). The lengths of the over-infinity range (61b) and the extremely close range (61d) are set equal to or greater than the length of an error range a of a detection position occurring by an individual difference between imaging devices.
