PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam splitter and beam splitter monitoring system in which the state of a light output terminal of the beam splitter can be easily confirmed.

SOLUTION: In the beam splitter monitoring system relating to the present invention, a light pulse is input through an optical fiber transmission line to the light input terminal of the beam splitter, and a reflection light pulse reflected on the end face of each light output terminal is measured. Pulse intensity of the reflection light pulse is varied in accordance with the state of the light output terminal of the beam splitter and by abnormality, so that the state of connecting the beam splitter can be easily confirmed remotely and working efficiency in managing PON can be improved.
