<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which double face printing is possible and miniaturization is achieved. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of double face printing, a recording medium is fixed with a developer on its one surface and is thereafter conveyed in a direction (the ejection direction) in which the recording medium is ejected from an ejection port 34 by an ejection roll 40. If a controller 64 decides that the trailing end of the recording medium in the conveyance direction has passed between a heating roll 56 and a pressure roll 58 according to the result of the detection by a recording medium detection sensor 60, the recording medium is returned toward between the heating roll 56 and the pressure roll 58, where the recording medium is released of a nip section by the ejection roll 40 inverted by the control of the controller 64. Further when the ejection roll 40 is inverted, the recording medium is guided between the heating roll 56 and the pressure roll 58 by a changeover claw 48, switched to open an inversion path 46 and is returned to the inversion path 46. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
