<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit content through the use of a content signal different in a view angle of an image that represents format and the description of the content. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic transmission system is provided with an SD switcher 13 and an HD switcher 15 to perform signal-switching on the content signal for each format. A content signal in SD format is supplied from an SD content supply unit 11 to the switcher 13. A content signal in HD format is supplied from an HD content supply unit 12 to the switcher 15. An up-converter 14 converts a signal outputted from the switcher 13 into HD format for supplying to the switcher 15. A down-converter 16 converts a signal outputted from the switcher 15 into SD format for supplying to the switcher 13. The converters 14, 16 also change the view angle. A control unit controls the operations of the content supply units 11, 12, and switchers 13, 15.
