PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To to provide an imaging device for obtaining an image of a fireworks with high picture quality wherein dark parts are emphatically contrasted. SOLUTION: The imaging device includes an imaging element (103) which converts incident light into an electric signal according to the quantity of the incident light and outputs the image signal obtained by the conversion, a mode switching section (109) which switches a plurality of photographic modes including a fireworks photographic mode and a normal photographic mode, a mode control section (110) which switches gamma characteristics including first gamma characteristics used for the fireworks photographic mode and second gamma characteristics used for the normal photographic mode, and a gamma circuit (113) which performs gamma-conversion to the image signal outputted from the imaging element by using the first gamma characteristics switched by the mode control section, wherein the first 1st gamma characteristics suppresses lower luminance than the second gamma characteristics.
