PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reflect the intention of a user for giving priority to which of the time interval of photography and a designated number of images to be photographed when the remaining amount of a battery decreases in interval photography, to the operation of an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises: a photography time interval setting section for setting a photography time interval; a section for setting the number of target images to be photographed continuously; a battery remainder detector for detecting the remainder of a battery for driving the imaging apparatus; a determination section for determining whether a remaining number of images to be photographed can be photographed at the photography time interval on the basis of the detected battery remainder, the photography time interval, and the remaining number of images to be photographed reaching the target number of images to be photographed; and a photography time interval change section for changing the photography time interval into a time interval, where the remaining number of images to be photographed can be photographed by the remainder of the battery, when the determination section determines that the remaining number of images to be photographed cannot be photographed at the photography time interval and the priority is given to the target number of images to be photographed instead of the photography time interval.
