PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic upgrading method capable of suppressing an erroneous operation of an in-vehicle system without impairing the convenience of a user who enjoins services utilizing radio, in downgrading and upgrading software to modify specifications of a software radio apparatus on the in-vehicle system. SOLUTION: Since a state that an automobile is not used is most suitable for upgrading, it is determined in steps 6040 and 6041 whether or not an ignition key has been pulled out, and if the ignition key has been pulled out, downloading is executed by radio communication in a step 6042. After that, in a step 6043, operations of the software radio apparatus SDRS and a car navigation system CNS are stopped, and in steps 6044 and 6045, upgrading and test operation are executed.
