PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attaching/detaching device of a joining tool for friction stirring and joining which is safe even during the power failure and compact by maintaining a holder of the joining tool in a retracted condition by the spring force of a coned disk spring, and providing an actuator for detachment behind a stirring motor to release the retracted condition of the joining tool. SOLUTION: In the attaching/detaching device of the joining tool for friction stirring and joining, a tapered hole 7 to fit a holder of the joining tool 2 is formed in an output shaft 5 of a stirring motor 3, and a stepped part 8 is formed on a rear end side of the holder. The stepped part and an attachable/detachable retracting claw 9 are connected to one end side of a retraction force generating unit 11 making use of a coned disk spring 10 urged to the backward of the output shaft, and a projection part 13 projecting from an actuator 12 for detachment provided behind the stirring motor faces the other end side of the retraction force generating unit to release the spring force of the coned disk spring by the projection part.
