PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester monofilament for electric materials, having excellent adhesiveness to other parts in the case of using in an electric material such as a cable part, having sufficient strength and flexibility, enabling the reduction of the diameter and space of a communication cable and causing little dimensional change by environment and provide an electric material produced by using the monofilament at least as a part of the constituent materials. SOLUTION: The polyester monofilament for electric material has a cross-section having an circumferential length of 0.4-7 mm, a 0.3% elongation strength of 2-200N and an absolute value of linear expansion coefficient of 1×10<SP>-6</SP>to 1×10<SP>-4</SP>/°C.
