PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a space closing device of a passenger conveyor capable of minimizing a space between closing bands and a skirt guard irrespective of the transverse deviation of stairs. SOLUTION: The space closing device of the passenger conveyor comprises closing bands 13a, 13b arranged on both side faces of a tread 4 so that the extension in the width direction of the tread 4 from both side faces of the tread 4 is kept expandable, a connection bar 11a which is passed through a communication hole 9a formed so as to penetrate the tread 4 in the width direction to connect the closing bands 13a, 13b, and integrally moves the closing bands 13a, 13b in the width direction of the tread 4, a closing band movement regulating means to regulate the movement in the contracting direction of the closing bands 13a, 13b so that the extension is a minimum value, and springs 12a, 12c to urge the closing bands 13a, 13b so that the extension is a reference value.
