摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a visually proper method of processing for edge parts, in deriving interpolated pixels in the conversion from interlace scanning to progressive scanning. SOLUTION: A method for converting an interlaced scan image, having a plurality of pixels arranged in a matrix of rows and columns to a progressive scan image processes pixels to be interpolated at target pixel positions between two successive rows of the interlaced scan image. The method determines whether the pixels on a current row contain any edge pixel; and if a pixel is determined to be an edge pixel, the method determines an approximate angle for the edge, based on a difference between the column number of at least the edge pixel on the current row and the column number of at least one edge pixel on the previous row. The method uses the approximate angle, to determine which pixel on the current row or on the previous row corresponds to the target pixel, and interpolates the values of the target pixel from the corresponding pixel.
